Described as “one of the most multidimensional artists working today” (JazzTimes), GRAMMY-winning, Cuban-born bandleader, drummer, composer, and 2011 MacArthur “Genius” Fellow Dafnis Prieto is excited to release the new album by his explosive Sí o Sí Quartet in September 2024 on his Dafnison Music label! This album marks Prieto’s 10th album as a leader.
The band hits the studio in May 2024. Dafnison Music has raised a portion of the funds to cover recording costs, but is looking for additional support to help cover mixing, mastering, and the album release, including promotion and publicity.

Dafnis led intimate 2-hour master classes covering a range of topics, including the content of his books, A World of Rhythmic Possibilities and Rhythmic Synchronicity; playing drum parts from his albums; and rhythms that are personally significant to him.

REGRESAR: BACK IN CUBA
In January 2019, drummer, composer, and educator Dafnis Prieto returned to his native Cuba to perform his music on the island for the first time in 20 years.
Emmy-nominated filmmaker Saleem Reshamwala (KidEthnic) joined to document this historic and emotional moment for the short film, Regresar: Back in Cuba.
